"The humidity is down, but the air is thick with anticipation."

Give me Nantz over Verne Lundquist cackling on TNT every time the stupid Aflac duck came on the screen. Man that was getting annoying.

The guys you list above with good Ryder Cup records played during the era when it was just the U.S. vs. Great Britain. They never had to face Ballesteros, Olazabal, Garcia, Langer and Miguel Jimenez

Entering this week on the Ryder Cup points list...

    7. Vaughn Taylor-missed cut
    8. J.J. Henry, made cut, won't be anywhere near top-10.
    9. Zach Johnson-missed cut
    10. Brett Wetterich-missed cut
    11. John Rollins-missed cut
    12. Stewart Cink-a long way out of the top-10.
    13. Jerry Kelly-ditto
    14. Lucas Glover-ditto, after leading the first round.
    15. Davis Love the Turd-has work left on the tougher back nine to make the top-10.
    16. Fred Couples-missed cut
    17. Tim Herron-hanging in there.
    18. Tom Pernice-missed cut
    19. Captain Tom Lehman-missed cut
    20. Scott Verplank-missed cut

What a bunch of gagging dogs. I really want to go to war with those sorry sad sacks.

Lehman should just take himself and assistant captain Cory Pavin. They probably want it more.

    Well-done, Hondo.

BTW, Capt. Tom is driving the course in a cart right now.

Anybody know why Royal Bank of Scotland is running so many commercials? Do they have branches in the U.S. or something? I can't figure that one out.

They are a big-time sponsor of golf, not to mention Jack Nicklaus and Luke Donald, who sports the RBS logo.

Is it just me, or are they running a ridiculous number of commercials here? It's like "show five shots, commercial break, five or six more shots, commercial, a few shots, some canned footage, more commercials..."

I realize that. It just seems like a waste of money to be advertising in the United States. (Although I do thank them for putting out the Nicklaus 5-pound note. Very cool keepsake.)
