    ESPN's headline is "Dungy can't quit Colts," a subtle Brokeback Mountain reference... Given his comments on gays, it seems like a potshot.

    I'm not sure what the intent was there. Could be a potshot, could just be an odd attempt at humor. Either way, you'd think headline writers would be especially careful in the wake of Golfweek and the noose.

    Some folks in the Cowboys organization wanted this done with Landry in 1989, with Paul Hackett or some rarer commodity brought in as "assistant head coach" with the explicit understanding he would succeed.
