    And from the AJC story:

"Owner Arthur Blank said he spoke to Petrino on Monday, and that Petrino assured him that he would be back for his second season with the team."

I guess a lot can happen in 24 hours.

I saw another story that said Petrino and the Falcons' brass had been talking about him wanting to return to the college ranks.
Actions dictate that was more the case.

4.) Jets, if Mangini's snitching act has pissed off Woody enough.

Imagine if Parcells were to take the Fins job.

AFC East could be renamed AFC Prick Division:
    -- Belichick
    -- Parcells
    -- Mangini
    -- Jauron

Which one of these is not like the other three?

Nah. Woody already napalmed that bridge. Though Tannenbaum and Parcells are muy tight.

Interesting you say that ... Furman Bisher suggested before Gailey was fired that Georgia Tech and the Falcons trade coaches. Personally, I don't think Gailey gets another high profile head coaching job any time soon. He's an NFL assistant.

Lou Holtz went from coaching at Arkansas to coaching in the NFL (for the Jets) for one year. Petrino goes from coaching in the NFL for one year to the Hogs.

I wonder if the Arkansas players are paid as well as the Falcons players?

I think ya got it backwards on Holtz. Jets ----> Arkansas ----> Minnesota ----> Notre Dame.

First Mora Jr., now Petrino ... that makes two who'd rather coach college than the Falcons.

So it is the same path. I guess he'll head to the Big Ten, er 11, next.
