From the Virginia Press Association job board:

The Progress-Index of Petersburg, Va., a Times-Shamrock-owned daily newspaper located less than 30 miles south of Richmond, is looking for a sports reporter covering youth, high school and college athletics in the Tri Cities area. Duties include covering local & regional high school sports, as well as writing interesting features and personality profiles on community sports and recreation. We also cover Virginia State University, NASCAR and NHRA and you will be given an opportunity to be part of that package.

A commitment to helping us improve our product in both coverage and design while continuing to develop our Web site is expected. Schedule is flexible but will require nights and weekends. Page layout and proofreading skills are a plus. Send resume to sports editor, Thomas Dozier, via email to tdozier@progress-index.com. No phone calls, please.

Damn, that brings back some memories. The Woo Woos are the shit.

    Anyone know who's leaving?

  5. They moved rather quickly - I just got an e-mail saying the position was filled.

Hey, to the best of my knowledge, only one employee has been stabbed to death outside the building in the past decade.

I've heard Petersburg is one of the great towns in America to get your ass kicked. If you're into that sort of thing.
