I wasn't sure which board to pick for this thread. There's an interesting St. Louis Sports Magazine interview with St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bernie Miklasz (I found thanks to The Big Lead) in which he talks about a conversation with SI's Peter King:</a>

Definitely Anything Goes is the right board for this.

Unless not posting it all was an option.

Shouldn't this have a NSFHealth tag?

That has to be one of the non-intentionally funniest things I've ever read.

Shouldn't this be combined with the "Man Boobs" thread?

    (I'm a horrible person.)

My god, Peter, please stick to Starbucks and NFL butt-kissing.

"Okay, kid, here's what you do! Once the ball is snapped, hand it off to the running back, who will sweep to the right side. Right guard! At the snap, start pulling along with the fullback! Run over anything that gets in your way! Running back! Following them into the end zone! We'll celebrate nine months later! On three! Ready? Go!"

Hey, apparently the man knows how to knock up a woman! Funny story there.

That Peter King is an 'expert' in seed-planting positioning should be troubling to any person interested in the progression of the species. We're talking devolution of the gene pool here. A small part of my humanity died reading the first post in this thread.

I thought this was going to be about how to shamelessly exploit one's teenage daughter to one's daughter's detriment and ridicule, as well as one's own.

Peter's good, on the NFL. The Bill Simmons-ization of his column is but wasted bandwidth, IMO.

But then again, so is Bill's.

Well, it is instructive about how to go about pulling the blogging ladder up from after you. It does have that.

Yeah, you might block up the Internet's system of tubes!

  12. people on this board love to blast the glimpses Peter gives into his life, his family, his travels

yet those are some of the most popular passages in his columns

so maybe it's just that we're a bunch of old-school hard-core sports writing purists, and what we like may not be the same as what his audience likes

he knows his readers and that's a good thing, not a bad thing
