Pete Van Wieren retiring

    Joe really is the glue that holds that broadcast booth together - he doesn't miss a beat when bouncing between working with Chip or Boog (and yes, they do call Sciambi Boog on-air) and he has a good rapport with both. This season was the end of an era in a lot of ways in Braves country, so it is probably a good thing that Pete is walking away sooner rather than later. And at least this time, he's leaving on his own terms.

    Between WGN and TBS, I got 30 Cardinals games back in the day.

    Then the earth cooled, and the dinosaurs came.

    I just can't get into Chip for some reason. I can't explain why. I like Boog better. A lot of people dislike him, but I think he's fine. As for Skip not being professional, I'd rather have a good baseball play by play guy be entertaining than "professional" all the time.
