    God, I wish I'm that good when I'm 72.
Hell, I wish I'm that good now. I'll settle for being alive when I'm 72.

Although I believe O'Malley belongs in the Hall ahead of many of the bufoons (Bowie Kuhn?) who are so honored, as the son of a die-hard Brooklyn Dodgers fan, this column invokes only one response:

    Thank God for Pete Hamill.

  6. Great column. Indeed, Hamill still has it. Not just the writing ability, but the pain.

  7. With Pete, it's all about remaining curious about the world and showing up to see it.
    Dude's my idol.
