Perhaps the NRA and gun-ban opponents will kill themselves off

    The money and the political power are almost always on the fringes. Rarely do you see a rally for moderation or compromise.

    Sanity and the public sentiment are in the center on this issue, and abortion, etc.

    But, the pressure is on the extremes.

    thread title just riled everyone up -- which, I'm sure, was the point.

    I agree that checks could and maybe should be done on any kind of arrest. you get nabbed, sorry, you broke the law and you lose some privileges for a while. but I don't think zag's idea of 'pass the first test and you're clear to buy away for 10 years' makes much sense. you don't get a free ride - keep clean and on the right side of the law and you get to keep putting together your collection.
