Boy, Vin sure doesn't have any problem whistling in the face of the jinx.

Yep, and I bet he can strike out in Chavez Ravine in three pitches.

If it's an eight-run game. But I don't think you play the "man card" when you trail by three runs in the seventh. They're not just trying to get to break up the gem, but also trying to get runners on base to win the game.

He was supposed to stay in the minors until the all-star break, then they had to put three guys on the DL today. Kind of forced their hand. And he did do well in three games at Mississippi. 7-for-13, I think.

    Puh-leeze, it's a 3-run game. Speed is a major part of Blanco's game.

If he beats it out and then Escobar gets on, you've got Chipper and Tex representing the tying and go-ahead runs. But they got Blanco out, so it doesn't matter.

Hell, why not? Not like he hasn't already called a perfect game before (Koufax, '65).

You're entitled to your opinion, but in this case it's wrong. If it's 6-0 or 8-0, maybe, but if you're within a slam, any means to get on base is legitimate. Not like Blanco's a masher, either.

Some jackass in the stands just yelled out, loud enough for the microphones to pick up, "Hey, you've got a no-hitter!!"
    Nice, dude. Nice.

Vin has called plenty of them and never hesitated to tell you the guy was pitching a perfect game or no-hitter.
