Well I hope no one does this to me.

My score is shit, due to no fault of my own. My own brother stole my identity within months of me turning 18. Took out a bunch of cards, ran them up, was late on them for years. Only 6 years later when I took out my first loan, for a used car, did I find out about it.

Why is my interest rate so high?

Well sir, you have a three credit cards out, all with low limits and they're all maxed out.

    No I don't.

Bank of America? CapitalOne? Do these sound familiar?

    Nope.

Then they start reading me addresses on the accounts and I put it all together. I was ready to send his ass to prison, but stopped at the pleading of my parents. That was about 2 years ago. I've gotten it back up to a Fair/Barely Good rating since then, but man does it suck sometimes.

These trend stories make for some eye rolling on the back end. Here's another favorite:

Few things in journalism are sillier than sheltered, whitebread reporters doing trend stories such as this. It's about time for their annual "hip street slang" stories, too.

Well, I can forget having to worry about my low credit score now. If you factor in these other things, I am screwed.

Or rather, not getting screwed, depending on how you look at it.
