Pentagon paid almost 2 million to firms owned by Jeffs' sect

So apparently the Pentagon paid 1.7 mil in defense contracts to firms owned by Jeffs sect. They claim it was legal, but I would question that--considering Jeffs was already on the Most-Wanted list by the time the money was spent. In that case there's no way the contract should have been acceptable.

Either way, it's a bit appalling that the Pentagon would have given that much money to Jeffs' coffers.

The FLDS sects make a fortune in the construction business. They've got all these young men, children of the elders, who they force into working for free or below minimum wage. So when it comes time to place bids for jobs, the FLDS crews are always the lowest bidders.

Wasn't really aware of that, Inky. Makes it even worse.

Two million in Pentagon dollars is like six coffeemakers, three screws and a toilet seat.
