Penn State's Paterno Injured In Practice Sunday

    At some point the Big Ten or NCAA brass should step in to prevent this.

    This is the second time Paterno's been bulldozed on the sidelines.

    He's not alert or quick enough to be safe out there any more. If there's a student-body sweep or a sudden interception, you can have 15 300-pounders sprinting across the sidelines at full throttle.

    PSU can appoint 6 or 8 people to act as bodyguards but if you have a dozen people coming across the sideline at full sprint that won't do any good.

    They need to put him in some kind of fenced-off box or golf cart.

    What would Paterno's version of the Popemobile be called?

    The JoePabile? The Jobile? The Nittany Rascal?

    Good for business in Penn State's case is having a high-profile coach who spurs donations; being on national TV for two-thirds of its schedule; and having a coach who gives some of his paycheck back to Ol' State. Urban Meyer or whomever else takes over isn't doing that.

    If we can keep sharks from Diana Nyad, can't we build an electromagnetic force field to surround JoePa during games?
