Somebody said to me, "well hey, Paterno probably thought Sandusky was innocent."

Well, sure, of course he did. So if somebody makes an accusation like that against somebody who has been in your program for decades, if you are the top-to-bottom dictatorial ruler of the program like Paterno, don't you immediately order a full-throttle investigation to find out for sure what's going on?

    Holy shit.

Attorneys general don't issue releases like this unless they think they have the case dead solid nailed.

And the account of the 1998 allegations make Paterno's position even harder to defend.

The idea that the 2002 allegations came as a stunning shock to Paterno won't fly.

Touched? Seriously? Comedy writers couldn't come up with that.
I think this one is going to get a whole lot of ugly.

This is going to do what those losing seasons a few years back couldn't: Get rid of Joe.

The more I read about this, the more I fall in line about it getting ugly. When Pete Thamel says it's the most revolting thing he's ever encountered covering college sports, I'll take him at his word. I'm surprised none of the victims has (publicly) lawyered up yet.

None of this seems to be against NCAA rules, though, so JoePa still runs a clean program.

Maybe The Pope will offer Joe a job at the Vatican.

Robert Morris, on the other hand, is about to get nailed big-time by the NCAA.
