Didn't Peavy have arm problems last year? Can you really risk arm injury to try and get 20?

He won't get there, but this is still pretty damn impressive.

And no, you do not let him pitch the 8th just to chase 20 strikeouts. This is a guy with a history of minor injuries. That's how you turn it into a history of major ones.

A quick google is only showing groin / calf injuries.

Just to get 20 is a definite no.

But if he's got a shot at 21 or 22, you've got to at least think about it -- unless his pitch count is waaay too high.

    Of course not.

But at 89 pitches now, and at least 3 strikes per K, he would be at 113 if he got to 20 striking out every batter on 3 pitches. So it's a moot point anyway. I say he gets pulled after 7, no matter where he's at.

    Pop out. 13 and 97 pitches through 5 2/3

    14 through 6

    I think he's at 105 pitches

He is. I am thinking he only has one more inning left.

He's batting for himself, so he is going to pitch the 7th.

This only further pisses me off that I picked Joe Nathan ahead of Peavy in my draft, then the asshole behind me scooped him right up. Who was the first starter I picked up? Ben Sheets. I'm a [IMG]
