There's nothing "all of a sudden" about it. They've been bickering over a repeal for the last three months.

The latest development was the leadership of the GOP holding a press conference on the statehouse steps saying that it was the responsibility of the new Dem governor and attorney general to come up with a repeal that the Republicans in the General Assembly will vote for.

The GOP has a super majority in both houses, by the way, and could presumably repeal it in about 30 seconds if that's what party leadership really wanted.

The only acceptable repeal is to block and copy all of SB2 and say "repealed." How hard is that?

NFL rep cites it being "discriminatory or inconsistent with our values"

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Wait. The guy's serious? Values? The NFL? The only thing the NFL values is cold, hard, cash, and they don't care who does what to whom as long as nothing interferes with their cash flow.

I guess this is as good a place for any as this ... or the Politics thread, but, anyway ...

Transgender boy moves within 1 win of girls Texas title

Born as a girl, Texas teen has been taking testosterone and wants to wrestle against boys. State law insists on defining eligibility by gender at birth. As a result, teen is dominating girls division.

Not state law. State athletic "commission" rule.

Ah, noted. I wouldn't expect any logic from such a body in any state.

It's going to be strange for sure on that issue. This one seems reasonable enough, but what happens when a born male identifies as female and wants to play basketball?
