This has been a tough one.

If I'm on a witness stand and have to answer that question, I have to answer yes. Time and place you're from, being young and stupid, different sensitivities, etc. There is probably an age cutoff associated with this (at least in my case I'd be surprised if I've ever said it beyond age 19 or 20).

But the waiters as slaves thing, and what seemed to be indications that she had gone on with the language for most of her adult life, got to be too much.

For an older woman, I'd bet Paula Deen can tear it up in the sack.

She's going to be just fine. I've read estimates where her net worth is something in the $300 million range. She's off Food Network, but keeps her restaurant, cookbooks, etc. Even if all of her business interests go away, she's got plenty to coast with over the rest of her days.

And that's not even counting her sure-to-come redemption tour.

She is also now unleashed to open a restaurant called Food The Way White People Want It.

She also admitted she dressed waiters as slaves. Yep that didn't help. Been called a 'Mick' all of my life... have called my friends 'Polacks', 'Waps' and 'Krauts' but I know the even though you may want to say it, in jest, it's a no go...

Hey y'all, poor Paula lost an ancestor when he killed himself after he lost his "workers" ...

Let's see... a white southern woman who is 66, raised in the segregation days and spent most of her life in the kitchen. She probably still called people 'coloreds' at one point as well.

    This shouldn't shock anybody.

    1. Food Network and Cooking Channel are the same company.
    B. 'Wop' is spelled with an 'o.'
