I know KISS' relevance is a hot-button issue at times on SportsJournalists.com, but just thought I'd mention this ...

    From Reuters ...

Paul Stanley, a singer and guitarist with rock band Kiss, was forced to pull out of a show in California on Friday after his heart started beating at more than twice the normal level, he said on his Web site.

The apparent tachycardia happened while the band was rehearsing for a performance at a casino in San Jacinto, Calif., about 90 miles east of Los Angeles.

"My heart spontaneously jumped to 190 plus beats per minute, where it stayed for over an hour necessitating paramedics to start an IV and give me a shot to momentarily stop my heart and get it into a normal pattern," Stanley, 55, wrote on his site (www.paulstanley.com)

I think his heart problems are a result of rocking all night long and partying every day for so many years.

    Sorry, had to.

Although I didn't post the entire story, KISS did play the concert, but as a trio.

    Who took over Paul's vocals?

Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer played the gig as Stanley was taken to the hospital.

I'm guessing Simmons took over the singing chores since it was last minute. The AP story says it was the first time KISS has ever played as a trio.

Gene will figure out some way to market it. :D

    The Paul Stanley heart monitor?

Did Dr. Love consult Paul on his heart condition?

    If he had died:

SAN JACINTO, Calif. (AP) -- Tears were falling Saturday night after Paul Stanley, a co-founder of the rock band Kiss, died of a heart attack.
