That ain't blasphemy per se, but you forget that Tom (Buffy) Hanks could also do the tranny thing with the best of 'em....

As for the other stuff, you're right - Swayze has it all over Hanks. :)

It took me a good 10 years to view this scene magically -- in the way in which it was intended. For the last several I can't make it without squalling.

Lee, I doubt there was a girl in my generation who didn't wish she was Baby when that movie came out.

I watched it all over again this morning for the umpteenth time. Every move Johnny makes oozes with the grace of a dancer, even when he's kicking at the fence post.

    Flash --

I saw the movie as a towheaded teen (with my mother.) (Don't tell anybody).

Watching it critically, there is much beauty to be found.

I'm glad somebody else mentioned the fence post. Johnny even made that look cool.

His routine with Chris Farley is one the greatest moments I have witnessed on TV.

I thought I read once that Jennifer Grey was a real bitch on the set and Swayze wasn't a particular fan.

I guess that means his acting skills, including that little kiss on the nose at the start of the last dance, are greater than we realized at the time.

Found something on it ... they had worked together on Red Dawn and she threw a hissy fit when she found out she had to work with him again.

Something about him taking stuff very seriously and her crying a lot.

What about Next of Kin or the Outsiders?

Probably cause Swayze killed Grey with a hand grenade at the end of Red Dawn.

She probably didn't want to go through that again...

Actually not entirely true. He gave her a hand grenade when she was gravely wounded to end her agony, and she ended up taking out a couple of Russians along with herself when they snooped around.
