Knowing a little more about pancreatic cancer than I wish I did, we'll find out whether the Enquirer was right very soon.

Yeah, it's pretty much the Omaha Beach of cancers. Liver's bad, too.

Pancreatic cancer is the anvil poised over my head. I don't know how hereditary it is, but my father died of it two years ago and a cousin on my mother's side has it now (inoperable, though he still does chemo).
Must hit Web MD to find out my risk, and if there is indeed anything I can do about it.

  6. Yeah but, theoretically, they can catch liver cancer. Pancreatic almost never gets nabbed until it already has metastasized beyond hope.
My friend, Dr. Ed, whom I'e posted about before, is into his third year post-diagnosis, which is almost unheard-of. He never got checked because his father never told him the disease had killed his mother.
Moral of the story for you, terrier. Get checked. Every six months.

Pancreatic cancer isn't significantly hereditary...my grandmother died of it, and the docs tell us over and over not to worry. Colon cancer, on the other hand, get thee to a colonoscope.

Swayze has a lakehouse in Alabama.

    Nothing else to add.

Jeff Healey died of cancer this week. If Swayze dies, has anyone heard what Sam Elliott's up to these days?

I think he caught it from Johnny Utah...

Didn't several members of Angelo Dundee's family die of pancreatic cancer?
