    Blackhawks' Kane arrested in Buffalo

Blackhawks star winger Patrick Kane was arrested early this morning in his hometown of Buffalo and faces robbery and other charges after allegedly assaulting a cab driver and failing to pay the fare, according to a report in the Buffalo News.

Kane, 20, and a relative, James M. Kane, 21, are alleged to have punched the cab driver and taken back money they had given him after the driver told them he didn't have 20 cents in coins to give them change, according to the report. The newspaper story did not detail how Patrick and James Kane were related.

The police told the newspaper the fare was $13.80 and the two Kanes had paid the driver $15. The newspaper is reporting the cab driver told police he was punched in the face, grabbed by his throat and had his glasses broken in the altercation.

Kane and his relative were arrested about 5 a.m. and charged with second-degree robbery, a Class C felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services, both Class A misdemeanors, according to the newspaper. The pair was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.

Let's see, it happened, say, about 4 a.m. on a Saturday night/Sunday morning? I'm going to guess a little alcohol was involved.

Which should have involved additional charges, since Kane is only 20.

I do have to wonder though, considerin Kane's persona has never been one of violence to my knowledge, if it wasn't his brother snapping and Patrick ended up along for the ride.

All bad. You do that, you go to Erie County Holding Center, you know. Two minutes by yourself, and you feel shame, you know.

    Sirs, Madames,

In Buffalo Kane's extended family are considered, uh, a little wild.

Kane always struck me as a kid with a little bit of attitude and a chip on his shoulder.
