He should not be in as a football player but they really should have an NFL/9-11 display with Tillman as the centerpiece.

    What an anti-war cautionary tale.

I thought you were referring to United Parcel Service.

Edit: Oops, I see someone already did that joke far better than me.

And no, Tillman does not belong in the Hall.

What's the cautionary tale? That you might die in war? I'm guessing Pat knew that.

Even though he died as a result of friendly fire, he still died in service to his country.

The NFL Hall of Fame is not a lifetime achievement award based on everything a person's done in his or her life. If it were, Tillman probably would be a shoo in.

Tillman does not belong in the Hall of Fame based on his playing career.

The plural of hall of fame should probably be halls of fame.

What if they gave him an asterix?

No, and it's an insult that someone would even think he should be in the HOF just because he was a soldier.

No means no. Perhaps the Hall of Fame can honor Tillman somehow, but he does not belong in the Hall of Fame.

Did anyone notice how there wasn't much follow up conversation to what Collinsworth said?

Pat Tillman is deserving of just about any honor that can be awarded -- but not the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
