Anyone who went to Rider or dealt with Prof. David Rebovich, he died yesterday after having a heart attack during class. Among the most respected poli-sci minds around.

LAWRENCE, N.J. - One of New Jersey's most quoted political analysts died after having a heart attack teaching a class on Friday, his university reported.
David Rebovich was 58.
Rebovich, according to a Rider University spokesman, was rushed to an area hospital in the morning after having the heart attack, but died soon after.
A resident of Mercer County's Hamilton Township, Rebovich was an associate professor and managing director of the Rider Institute for New Jersey Politics. He was often sought for his opinions on politics in the state.
The Associated Press alone used him in three stories in September.
News of Rebovich's death spread quickly among political insiders across the state. The late professor received praise not only from his colleagues but from politicians on both sides of the political aisle.
"Everybody is really saddened by it. He was a gentleman. He's going to be seriously missed," said Gov. Jon S. Corzine, a Democrat.
Senate Minority Leader Leonard Lance, a Republican, described Rebovich as the "heart and soul of political commentary in the state."
"He was nonpartisan and did a wonderful job," Lance said.
Rebovich received a bachelor's degree in political science from John Hopkins University in 1971. His graduate work in political science was at Rutgers University, where he received a master's degree in 1974 and a doctorate in 1978.
Rebovich joined Rider's political science department in 1979.
Fairleigh Dickinson political scientist Peter Woolley described Rebovich as a "rare and outstanding political scientist."
"He was unafraid to criticize the same politicians with whom he spent so much time. He was in and above the fray at the same time," Woolley said.
Rebovich is survived by a daughter and former wife.
