The Lewistown Sentinel in Lewistown, Pa. is looking for a part-time sports reporter to cover prep sports. The Sentinel covers four main high schools, three fringe area high schools and several parochial schools. For more information e-mail sports@lewistownsentinel.com and put part-time sports reporter in the subject line.
Lewistown is 30 minutes away from State College, Pa., home of Penn State University.

Looks like a good opportunity for somebody from PSU's journalism school to get some real-world clips.

It's really not a good paper. The sports section is thought of as a joke to its competition. However, it's a start for an aspiring writer, and you'd be going up against a pair of good papers -- the Centre Daily Times and the Altoona Mirror. Of course, Altoona and the Sentinel are sister papers, so file sharing is in effect.

That said, it'd be a good experience, but I'd get that and go.

It's clips. Keystone has it about right.

(Although Dan Rydell is bound to show up here any minute and say we shouldn't be wasting our time talking about small Pennsylvania newspapers. ;))
