Highland Lakes Newspapers is looking for a part-time sports reporter to cover Llano High for the Llano County Journal, a weekly newspaper owned and operated by our locally owned company.
Llano is a a school 45 to 60 minutes outside of Austin, Texas and nestled deep in the Hill Country. Successful candidates would be able to offer blanket coverage of the school's sports teams, not just football. Coverage is expected of volleyball, softball, baseball, football and especially basketball. We would like the potential candidate to be able to successfully deal with coaches, develop feature stories and be able to coordinate with parents to get pictures for the paper. I
We would require the reporter to file at least three stories per week and would expect to get four.
