Not saying it is an even split. But I would guess more men watch TPIR than watch The View

You can't even see old TPIR episodes on Game Show Network.

Ever since the show was acquired by Pearson, there has been a stalemate over rights to air the old episodes.

It was bad enough when Barker refused to let GSN show any episode where a fur coat was offered as a prize (which was practically every episode in the mid-70s). But for the past several years nothing has been available.

So all those great Holly episodes are sitting in a vault somewhere and may never be seen again.

Sorry if this is a d_b, but I just stumbled onto this article about the good ol' days.

If you believe the internet, it may not be that big of a deal...it sounds like product placement may not be as lucrative for them as it sounds.

    From a FAQ on Golden-Road.net:

Yeah, men probably are more likely to watch a game show than any other type of show on broadcast television, but the audience, even with a lot of women working, is probably very tilted toward female.

Interesting. So it turns out there is an Adam Sandler working on TPIR.

"Among his duties are setting up pricing game props and writing for the Showcase."

That is conclusive proof as to why Barker is retiring. Dementia is setting in.

His empire is about to die.

If someone can recall, she also loved "Survivor" and turned her host of the reunion show into a travesty for the producers: showering contestants with cars, and of course, her flamboyant mouth dominated what was supposed to be a focus on the contestants and instead became all about HER.

As opposed to the women who wanted to get touchy-feely with Bob, how many men would want to run onto the stage and plant a big wet one on Rosie?

    Ick.

No one has touched that one yet? I'm surprised.

I think it would depend entirely on what constitutes a "wet one."

Each prize would have to have 69 in it?

Try the veal and tip your waitress.
