I'm reminded of Kirk Herbstreit's comment during a game a couple years ago when Sparty was in the process of blowing a double-digit fourth quarter lead at home to Notre Dame: "And this is why for the past 40 years, they've been Michigan State."

 

One of the funniest lines on CFB TV since "It's 42-21...."

 

Swear to god, I'm sitting in the stands of the Big House for this game rooting for UM surrounded by MSU fans. I'm getting heckled all night, and right when MSU gets their huge lead, and gray haired Sparty fan turns to me and says "don't worry about it, we will still lose."

Once UM won the game in 30T, I look back and the Spartan fan is long gone. I'll never forget that. The rest of the Spartan fans around me were crying. That was fun.
