Seeking a full-time copy editor/page designer to help us continue to be Northwest Arkansas' premier daily newspaper. The winning candidate will design pages in our news, features and sports sections while working with editors to execute design strategies. We need a news desk leader who can edit breaking page 1 stories and indepth enterprise reports. This person will need to write eye-grabbing headlines and make decisions on how news reports are played on a page to increase impact and readership. Meeting deadlines is a must, as is experience in copy editing and Adobe InDesign. A journalism degree and knowledge of AP style are also required. Experience in NewsEdit Pro, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are also helpful. Must work nights and weekends.

Northwest Arkansas is home to Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods and the state's flagship university. We're a nationally recognized economic engine noted for our educational excellence, cultural richness and abundant recreational opportunities in the beautiful Ozark Mountains.

We offer an excellent salary and a full benefits package including medical plan with prescription card, dental, vision, short-term disability and 401K with match.

Send resumes and examples of work by January 30, 2009, to:

  2. Wasn't this frozen over the summer? This is the Stephens Media paper, no?

The one this summer was a sports page designer. It looks like this one may be news or a universal desk position.

And yes, it's the Stephens Media paper.

This is a new opening. Previous opening was filled by Greg Stark last summer.
