Pa. Death Penalty

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Evil ... Thy name is Orville Redenbacher!!, Apr 19, 2009.

  1. The Post-Gazette had a story on the state's death penalty.
On average, it takes 12.5 years to exhaust the appeals process.
The state has 228 inmates in death row and they are in limbo as the Gov. has declared a de facto moratorium due to the lengthy appeals.
The only thing I didn't see in the article was the cost on the taxpayers associated with the appeals and to house death row inmates as opposed to lifers.

  5. Sounds like 12.5... to run through all the state and fed. appeals, unless he waives them.
