    The two times I drove through Chicago -- driving through town on a Friday night coming in from the north, and on a Saturday afternoon coming from the east, both times on I-90 -- were disasters.

    Haven't been to one of these outings, but would love to try this summer.

    I'm biased, of course, but Chicago would be a great spot -- with the understanding that big blocks of tickets could be tough to get. Especially (I grudgingly admit) on the North Side.

    I'd volunteer to host, but I doubt anyone's interested in seeing a weekend of Spokane Indians low-Class A games ... :D

    I'll make the call early next week - still have not heard from YF (asked him to PM me). No one has stepped up from Denver or Minneapolis.

    PM sent.

    Just talked to my contacts at the Hilton Garden Inn and at the DoubleTree. Both said they'd get me answers on Monday.

    I don't know what they'll come back with, but both said they'd get me the best possible rate.

    I asked them to check both the weekend of July 16th and July 23rd.

    If it's Chicago, I'm likely in in some respect. My wife is out of town for the weekend of July 16, so I am off work and watching my son. Maybe the lad and I can drive up for the game or I can get the mother-in-law involved in some babysitting ... hmmm.

    There are adults who have been scarred by outings. I can't be held responsible for the mental well-being of a child.
