Outdoors/Recreation reporter -- Vancouver, Washington

    The Columbian, Southwest Washington’s news leader in print and online, seeks a full-time reporter to join its sports team covering stories related to fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, water sports and active lifestyle topics relevant to Southwest Washington. The reporter will have deep knowledge of these activities, as well as political and economic issues related to them. The ideal candidate will enjoy both outdoor activities and covering news, and will produce stories using print, video and social media tools.

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • A bachelor’s degree.
    • At least two years of journalism experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to report and write outdoors and news stories.
    • Demonstrated experience using social media and multimedia as tools for gathering and disseminating news.
