Guys in my office - four of us full-timers - just did a quick draft. Losers buy the winner lunch.
I got the U guys: Uggla, Utley.

Gives me a reason to watch at least.

I'd pick him too. I think it's between Braun and Hamilton.

    Gotta have Hamilton.

Where was your draft position, Mods?

We did this in 2004. I had David Ortiz and Sammy Sosa.

Ortiz was last. Sosa was fifth.

    It was a miserable day.

I'm going with the ghost of Babe Ruth.

I actually think you come out of this pretty well, Moddy. Utley could definitely use the short porch in right to his advantage.

Was there a couple weeks ago when he had two homers against the Jays. I like this guy. Heard a pretty good interview on the radio with him, too.

The way he's been mashing, you gotta give the edge to Hamilton. But someone unexpected seems to win quite often.

Uggla could be a darkhorse, Moddy. He's got a grip it and rip it swing.

I went first - and took Utley.
    Why?
Because I think this thing is a crapshoot. We could have done a blind draw and I would have felt just as good. One of my guys is a huge Hamilton fanboi and he was next. I basically let them have who I knew they wanted and took my chances with the U boys.

Is the Derby on ESPN? What channel is the All-Star Game on?

I'm drawing a blank on all of this.
