Our financial system is insolvent

    And remember, the money you're putting in now is buying shares at a cut-rate price. So when the market comes back, and it inevitably will, those shares will make money.

    And if the markets don't ever come back, we've all got problems far more serious than 401(k)s.

    Unfortunately, most Americans don't understand how the financial system works. So they don't understand the gravity of the problem, and will look at someone "telling them the bad news" to be a dour sourpuss raining on their happy parade.

    This is extremely broad, naive advice. You have no idea what "cut rate prices" are. This sounds like someone from CNBC talking.

    You're too late. If you were going to do that, you should have moved nine months ago. If you're going to do it now, be prepared to keep it there probably for another six months, minimum.

    And I'm tickled by the fact after CNBC talks about AIG's problems, the first commercial in the break is for AIG.
