    Annus horribilus for the Mounties.

They do PR better than almost any institution

According to an editorial I read a few days ago in the Star, they also meddle in government affairs and intimidate politicians better than any other Canadian institution.

Well, that's one way of getting your man.

    Tragic way to go.

It was included in the McDonald Commisson's Report, the one that investigated illegal activities by the Horsemen. The Mounties heard a rumour about a possible meeting between the FLQ & The Black Panthers in a barn in Quebec. So the Mounties burnt down the barn.

Speaking of the FLQ, next year will be the 40th anniversary of the October Crisis.

    "Just watch me" :)

(Speaking of Royal Commissions, whatever happened to them? I loved those damn things)

EDIT: Last one was the Romanow Report on the future of health care....that was back in '00-'02

In that particular case, I like the Mounties' style.

Just too bad the FLQ core membership hadn't been inside, and hadn't all died in the flames.

Yes, because allowing cops to burn down buildings where there might be questionable activity is always a good idea. :)

Horsemen? Mounties? We talking Canadian politics or 1980s wrestling?

No, we're talking about the RCMP aka Mounties aka Horsemen.

You know, musical rides, red tunics and Sargeant Preston with his dog King
