It took Kobe 13 years to be the central figure of an NBA champ, and he didn't really get it right until after he'd spent the summer with Coach K on the Olympic team.
    Just sayin'.

Maybe the Institute for White Studies in Zanesville, Ohio, should investigate the lack of American whites in the NBA.

If you took the best 12 white american players in the NBA and put them on one team, would that team even make the playoffs?

No way they make the playoffs.

    C-Kaman-Lopez-Hawes
    PF-Love-Lee-Murphy-Anderson
    SF-Dunleavy-Budinger-
    SG-Miller-Hinrich-Redick
    PG-Williams-Ridnour-Blake

Which leaves the question. Who is the best white-American player in the NBA?

From that list, I would take Lopez then Lee then Love.

That group is very good at PF/C and horrible at, well, all the others.

Have all the white players of a normal height (under 6-5) playing football, baseball or soccer now instead of basketball?

I do know that coaches at the high school basically tell kids early on to make a choice of what they want to play.

Right now probably David Lee. Eventually, it will be Kevin Love.

Lopez's father is Cuban. Does he count as white American?

That's definitely part of it. Kids are pushed to pick a sport to specialize in earlier than ever nowadays, and unless they're exceptionally tall, athletic white Americans usually get pushed away from basketball. I'm guessin many of the guards from the past like Stockton, Mark Price, Ainge and Skiles would've ended up focusing on another sport if they were coming up today. As would some of today's foreign guards like Nash, Ginobli, Calderon and Fernandez if they'd grown up in the U.S.
