No love for Penelope Cruz's vintage number? I thought she was divine.

But I also hated Jolie's jewelry. Too costume-y looking.

Too much like a wedding dress for my taste.

For someone who gets so much press for her taste and style, Sarah Jessica Parker looked awful last night.

    Angelina Jolie. Check.
    Diane Lane. Check.
    Kate Winslett. Check.
    Penelope Cruz. Check.
    Natalie Portman. Check.
    Anne Hathaway. Check.

But how the hell does Parker always manage to be among the 15 or 20 celebrities to whom the network and E! happen to pay attention? I don't get it. You have a room crammed with beautiful, accomplished, glamorous women and she makes the final cut? How?

Hey, if you've got 'em, flaunt 'em. But SJP's looked up high and mashed.

I only saw about 10 minutes of the pre-show, and nearly none of the show. But of what I saw, I loved Hathaway before, Seth Rogen before and Alicia Keys on the show.

I agree that I liked the idea, but I'm not sure about the execution.

Something about the emeralds looked gaudy to me.

And in a recession, that's not the way you want to err.

She almost pulled it off, though.

On Aniston, I think she went to her stylist and said, "Remember my favorite quote that Brad ever said about me." Which is, "Jen is the fire everybody gathers around for warmth..." Or some such.

I think Aniston's goal was to look like warm sunshine. She knew Jolie would wear black. That's just what goth Angelina does in these situations.

And Aniston with the tossled hair and the fun braid at the top... in shimmering white... it underscored that Brad left the light side for the dark side. Nice call by her.
