He's ass paste on a cave wall. He's deader than crab meat. If your government provides a corpse, it would logically call for a cessation of the illegal war 6,000 miles away -- it already being prosecuted on shaky grounds -- and that ain't going to happen. Too many people to be made even richer.

Which war do you mean? The one we are fighting over there so we won't have to fight it over here?

I just find it amazing that the hand-picked loyalists would release a report with such damning implications for this country's foreign policy.

Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Worsens Terrorism Threat

    By MARK MAZZETTI
    Published: September 24, 2006

WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 — A stark assessment of terrorism trends by American intelligence agencies has found that the American invasion and occupation of Iraq has helped spawn a new generation of Islamic radicalism and that the overall terrorist threat has grown since the Sept. 11 attacks.

The classified National Intelligence Estimate attributes a more direct role to the Iraq war in fueling radicalism than that presented either in recent White House documents or in a report released Wednesday by the House Intelligence Committee, according to several officials in Washington involved in preparing the assessment or who have read the final document.

The intelligence estimate, completed in April, is the first formal appraisal of global terrorism by United States intelligence agencies since the Iraq war began, and represents a consensus view of the 16 disparate spy services inside government. Titled “Trends in Global Terrorism: Implications for the United States,’’ it asserts that Islamic radicalism, rather than being in retreat, has metastasized and spread across the globe.

An opening section of the report, “Indicators of the Spread of the Global Jihadist Movement,” cites the Iraq war as a reason for the diffusion of jihad ideology.

The report “says that the Iraq war has made the overall terrorism problem worse,” said one American intelligence official. ...

If he's dead, I'm glad if only that he deserved to meet a horrible end after the evil he's perpetuated on the world.

But there's another part of me that wanted him to rot in a cell for the rest of his life like Moussaoui. Alive, but completely inert, eventually fading to a failed afterthought among his believers. Living death.

Dead, I fear that the message for the fundamentalists who followed wasn't that his immoral and evil mission failed, it's that he becomes a freaking martyr to that immoral and evil mission.

FDP, part of the problem lies
Wow, the truth hurts, huh? Only problem is, you seem to be more bothered by the fact that "hand-picked loyalists" hurt the "country's" foreign policy rather than the very real possibility that by us continuing the fight in Iraq, we're actually making the terror threat worse.

Trust me, anything that is damning to the administration's foreign policy is a welcome development. Maybe now they will change it.

One can only hope, but it's unlikely anything other than an election day house cleaning would actually change it. The people who have and continue to support this administration constantly hand them a false sense blank check approval for any policy they desire, even if it's deletorious to the rest of the nation.
