Oregon editor being held in sex abuse case

    I have no pity for pedophiles, I really don't. But you really need to give this guy the benefit of the doubt until the trial is over. These are always high profile cases that are prosecuted to the max. The fact that they are dropping the top charges this early in the case indicates the relationship was likely consensual, but since he was in a position of trust consent is presumed to have been forced.
    There are a lot of teachers out there that have had their careers ruined or stalled because of rumors of inappropriate touching or an ill-thought remark at the end of a really bad day. And though we'd like to think a high school student is innocent and beyond reproach, there are a lot of bad kids out there, raised in bad households with bad intentions. And this guy will still face a tougher time than Debra LeFavre.
