well then shit, he already knows how shitty the place is. god bless him. he signed on for another stint where it sucks horrifically and things were last cool when your neighbor's name was winny and you wore a jets jacket.

Saw the Register on Saturday and Mark Saxon is still travelling with the Angels. I wonder when he moves over to the USC beat, because Angels are definitely DOA

Mark Gonzales from the Chicago Trib said the Angels position would be posted, as far as he knows.

Not so fast.....the OCR has just announced that it's gone into a hiring freeze......

Hold your horses is right. Mark made these comments when the OCR hadn't frozen hiring. That figures...

They started the OC Post last week, an extremely quick-read tabloid publication and I heard that instead of letting people go, when this was created, it saved some editorial positions that otherwise would have been shown the door. Guess that means the Angels beat stays in-house too.

Not necessarily. You can get by without a full-time Angels reporter until Jan. or Feb. at this point, assuming the freeze is lifted by then. Papers do it all the time to save some cash...

Time will tell....the last time the OCR had a freeze it went on for a looooong time......may have been close to a year. With a new project (OC Post) and ad revenue down, it could be another long wait before things start to thaw out.
