    I agree Balls, especially considering the rarity in openings at all, let alone one of this magnitude. I believe we all have no doubt the OCR will find a fine replacement for Mr. Wood, who indeed was a fine scribe for the CCT. There are worse gigs than covering the NHL.

    OCR finally made a decision...and they hired from the outside.

    Not a moment too soon.....

    Eric Stephens who covered the job for the LATimes before he was laid off is the new (recycled?) Ducks beat writer in OC.

    Eric's gotta be thrilled with this. Really. Great opportunity for him, and pretty much what he was doing before.

    As rebounds from leaving the LAT go, and if you want to get something close to what you had before, without having to move, or anything, it doesn't get much better than this.
