Oops *** wrong stadium

My first year on the beat I presumed a basketball game was at 7 p.m., so I booked a flight to arrive there at 1 p.m.

Game time was, you guessed it, 1 p.m.

I ate that one. Booked a new flight and was so mortified, I never told my boss about it. A few years later, I finally told him what a dumbhead I was. He told me the company would have reimbursed me for the fuck up and the flight I rebooked.
