Certain words you probably shouldn't misspell, one of them being your paper's name.

That just might be my favorite correction, ever.

Wow...I bet they did feel silly. How does that happen, though? Wouldn't they lay out the page with a template and not have to touch that?

AP made a bad one about a decade ago.

They sent a running White Sox gamer and then sent about 10 corrections within the next 30 seconds.

The first story said "Frank Thomas likes to take pitchers deep into the count."

The problem was, they forgot the O in "count"

You don't want to assume anything in journalism.

That's definitely not one worth repeating... and it's not very forgivable or understandable either.

Sh*t happens, but that just can't.

I worked on a paper that once had to replate every single page for second edition because every single page of the first edition was dated with the wrong year. It was actually an excellent mid-major that spent quite a bit more on its editing operation than most papers its size and every page with news content had been proofed, including features sections days earlier. And none of us caught it in time. Shit happens.

The first paper I worked at would pass out a packet of some of the biggest fuck-ups that actually made it to print.

It was hilarious. It was also scary as shit.

Did "shitload of snow fell last night" make it?
That cutline was in a packet I got at a seminar and listed as a typo.
What the hell were they trying to type that it came out "shitload of snow?"
