"... Those are chopped full of ... heady goodness."

I'm finally getting to The Simpsons DVDs I've had sitting on my shelf since Christmas. I'm on Season 5, and I forgot how good it was. Between the B-Sharps, The Thompsons, Homer melting the simulation truck, The Ramones' birthday song and Bobo, I just might not make it through the first disc without keeling over in amazement.

Smithers: Here's something that should cheer you up, sir. It's me, sir: Bobo. Hug me. Squeeze me. Tug at my fur.

Thank you, Matt Groening, for giving me something to do when my cable is out.

Either way, I'm good with it. Karma will be on my side soon enough.

    I hope.

I need to start building a collection of those Simpsons Seasons on DVD... I'm only through season two, maybe if I didn't choose journalism I could afford the others.

Anyway, Season 5 and 6 was the peak of Simpsons greatness.

The Stonecutters episode, Two Dozen and One Greyhounds, Who Shot Mr. Burns.

    Good times.

Oh, no. There's a gremlin on the side of the bus.

That reference escapes me, although, season five had the monorail episode.

It put Ogdenville on the map.

I'm pretty sure the monorail was in the fourth season.

The gremlin is in the Treehouse of Horrors episode.

The best treehouse was the trilogy in which Willie got killed in each episode.

No beer and no TV make Homer something something.
    Stupid Smarch weather.

But the greatest treehouse line was probably Skinner in the one where the teachers are eating the kids. "You could say there's a little bit of UTER in all of us! In fact, you could say we just ate Uter, and he's in our stomachs right now!" *pause* "Scratch that."

Uter just made his first appearance. He was brilliant and generous.

    Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
    Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

My life is sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
That's how this refrain goes, so come on, join in everybody!

    Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is sure to come your way
When you're in love to stay.
