    Around 1992 or '93, I pegged the speedometer (somewhere around 115 mph) on my 1985 Chevy Impala on some back-country road in Iowa between Des Moines and Pella. I soon thought better of it and backed it on down. Car ran great, though, like floating on air.

    Was this feat near the Henderson Swamp?

    Whatever the case, going to 110 on that stretch of highway takes a pair of persimmons.
