Damn, that's a cool story. I wish I would have heard of this so my paper could've done something on it.

According to the story, not only in Texas -- Nebraska and Nevada, too.
And a "street class" averaging 85-95 isn't even that fast.
    Sounds like great fun.

I remember hearing a story about a guy racing the the Gumball Rally a few years ago who got the (then) biggest speeding ticket in the world.

He was doing 242 mph in a Zonda.

yeah, gola, would be a cool piece.

(and when montana had the 'reasonable and prudent' limit years back, I remember topping out one road trip at 105. good times.)

I did 100 mph on the 401 between London and Windsor once. Felt like I was going 50.

I did 100 once on the expressway in a Mercury Tracer. Not a great idea.

Thought this was going to be about the Texas governor, who two weeks ago was talking secession but is now all "help us, CDC!" since the swine flu's knocking on the back door.

I did 130 on the road between Reno and Vegas in a 560 I was driving for the guy who owned McKee Oil. It wasn't even at 3000 RPMs and steadier than Mariano Rivera.

I did that for about 10 minutes before I dropped it back to 80.

Guy from around here was driving his brand new Corvette on open highway.

    Got up to 105.

    Tire blew.

    Next of kin notified.
