I can't (but really, I can) believe this:

    Enough hockey already.

I'd love to see the Jets back in Winnipeg. But it shouldn't be a political platform.

This is a brilliant move. They may or may not get anywhere with the NHL, but they'll pick up a lot of support on the campaign trail and that's really what it's all about.

"The Tory leader says an NHL team would make Manitoba more attractive to young people and help stem the tide of university graduates who leave for Alberta."

No, the real reason is simple: no one would willingly live in Winnipeg.

If they NHL came to Manitoba, would they let the Moose loose?

I read in The Rebel League, an Ed Willes book about the WHA, that Jets owner Ben Hatskin overheard an argument Bobby Hull was having with his wife. This was just before Hull signed with the Jets and Joanne was screaming, "why do you want to live in Winnipeg and play for that fat Jew?"

If it does happen, I hope it's an existing team. The NHL is already WAY too watered down when it comes to talent.

Many fond memories from this corner of the Jets and the WHA days ... Probably one of the few people on this board who had WHA season tickets as a kid growing up. That team with Hull, Hedberg, Nilsson, Willy Lindstrom, et al from 75-76 was nails.

I'm on the bandwagon as well, let's move a team up there.

Whales, Jets and Nordiques forever, Hurricanes, Coyotes and Avs never.

I thought this thread was about those cute little baby seals.

Why would you think that? The Seals were based in Oakland.

True. But they were baseballed somewhere near the Hudson Bay
