So many ridiculous things in this article that it's pathetic.

Ooooh. The number's less outrageous than it's been IN A YEAR!

Maybe you should change the thread title to say 62 instead of 2. . .

An average of two a day, SC.

Since there were 30 days in September, then the number should be 60. </hondo>

In regards to the Iraqi civilian body count: Aren't they being killed by other Iraqi civilians?

other Iraqi citizens or non-Iraqis who came across the border to commit acts of terrorism

Everyone in Iraq is a terrorist so those deaths don't count.

Of course, since a lot of ethnic cleansing has taken place, millions have been displaced or forced to move, and since, well, there's simply not as many people to kill anymore, the number of civilian deaths is more than a little misleading.

I was thinking more in terms of what percentage of the civilian body count is the result of Shiite vs. Sunni -- certainly not our fault. This may be simplistic but can't they stop killing each other whenever they want?

I'm sure they never thought of that.

How do the lyrics go ...

"The coffins, they filled up, they filled up by twosies twosies. The coffins, they filled up, they filled up by twosies twosies. Army, Navy, and Marineseys 'rineseys, children of the sword."

Progress is progress. But I'm sure it doesn't make 62 families feel any better.
