    Be part of the innovative and award-winning knoxnews.com team at the News Sentinel in beautiful Knoxville, Tenn.



    Responsibilities:

    * Update the News Sentinel's family of websites, including knoxnews.com, knoxville.com and govolsxtra.com, with daily newspaper content and breaking news, using our Ellington-based content management system and simple HTML coding.

    * Shoot, edit and produce videos for the Web in an array of topics

    * Create photo galleries, edit reporter-shot videos and audio.

    * Stay abreast of and be an early adopter of digital trends and services.

    * Decide the priority and section for stories and relevant content on our site using sound news judgment.

    * Work with different departments to ensure relevant content is posted online.

    * Moderate site comments.
    * Provide excellent customer service for online viewers.



    Requirements:

    The chosen candidate will have a keen desire to learn new skills. He or she must be a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills who can work with a variety of departments.

    * Must be active on the social Web.

    * Skilled in video, audio and photo equipment and editing software; FTP.

    * Must be able to work some nights and weekends as scheduled.

    * Strong computer skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work when necessary.

    * Deadline and detail oriented.

    * The ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot with technical support staff.

    * Knowledge of basic grammar and AP style.

    * A passion for all areas of news including college sports.

    * Someone with a lot of patience, commitment and a sense of humor, who understands the job will be very flexible.

    * A self starter.



    Preferred:

    * Someone with a portfolio that shows strong multimedia storytelling skills.

    * Experience with Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, Adobe PhotoShop.

    * Experience with both Macintosh and PC operating systems

    * A 4-year journalism degree or equivalent experience.
    * Writing or copy editing experience.

    * Knowledge of simple programming languages.
