    US Lacrosse, the national governing body of lacrosse, has an opening for an Online Editor for Lacrosse Magazine in Baltimore.     General Description:

    Reporting to the Editor-in Chief, the Online Editor coordinates and produces content for LaxMagazine.com, a daily news website devoted to all levels of lacrosse and the online home of Lacrosse Magazine, the flagship publication of US Lacrosse.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

    Manage daily operations of LaxMagazine.com.
    - Post news, scores, blogs, photos, videos and features in real time.
    - Write blogs, columns, features and news articles.
    - Recruit and manage national network of writers, photographers and videographers.
    - Edit, copy, write headlines and format content for publication.
    - Liaise externally with CMS provider/website host, internally with web properties manager.
    - Organize and run meetings devoted exclusively to LaxMagazine.com planning.
    - Manage staff writers and frequent contributors for web-only content.
    - Maximize content for mobile.

    Position LaxMagazine.com. as leader in online lacrosse media.
    - Enhance design and functionality to best deliver original content.
    - Conceive and coordinate traffic-generating content and campaigns.
    - Develop new features to promote reader and audience engagement.
    - Market content using SEO tactics, social media and Google analytics.
    - Customize CMS to meet goals of organization, publication.

    Manage Lacrosse Magazine social media channels.
    - Create, curate and promote published content on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
    - Work closely with video production manager to integrate YouTube content.
    - Develop and expand following.
    - Find new ways to reach and engage with readers and to help them interact with our content.
    - Leverage social media as platform for breaking news.

    Position LM staff and contributors as personalities and thought leaders.

    Provide content for the monthly print publication, Lacrosse Magazine. Repurpose and supplement (with bonus articles, photos, videos, etc.) magazine content for digital audience.

    Occasional travel as needed.

    Regular weekend and evening work, primarily during the spring lacrosse season.

    Required Skills, Education and Experience:

    - Bachelor's degree.
    - Excellent writing and copyediting skills.
    - Journalism experience (2-3 years).
    - Strong knowledge of lacrosse.
    - Familiarity with HTML and Adobe Creative Suites software.
    - Experience working in content management systems.
    - Ability to multitask and delegate.
    - Social media savvy.
