Yeah, I really don't understand how anyone can be indifferent or disappointed.

Disappointed that it took this long? Sure... I get that... Maybe disappointed at the way a few things were handled? Maybe...

Indifferent? I can't imagine how anyone could adequately explain that one.

I hope the SEALS get the heroes welcome they deserve.

My buddy was the Captain of Rescue 1 -- the elite rescue unit for Manhattan -- on 9/11.

Terry Hatton had a one word catch phrase that he used to sum up good news.

Terry was killed that morning and their rig was destroyed.

The new rig was emblazoned with Terry's catch phrase on the front.

So, the one word I'm feeing right now:

    Outstanding!

    Badass.

That pretty much encompasses everything. We said we'd get him, and we did. Badass. After all we've been through this decade, starting with 9/11 and including a near-depression, America is rising again. Badass. I heard a news report that some jihadist blogger is plotting revenge. STFU you MFer. If you try it, you'll get yours like he got his. Badass.

It's a mixture of confidence and hope and patriotism.

It took 10 years, but he's been in hiding or on the run that entire time.

The difference being that this time we're paying attention. At least more attention than on 9/10/2001.

Can't reduce it to 1 word.
But sometime last night I hope Obama had the good sense and wit to utter the following phrase:
    "Mission Accomplished"

It's not a single word, but I liked the compact phrase Hillary Clinton used with reporters this morning: "You cannot wait us out."

    Damn good post.

I remember working at a PM when OJ's verdict came down. I'm guessing this was better than that.
