Of course, I'd probably need to have a lung removed after dinner was over.

I love the Linda Ellerbee suggestion as well. Way back when, watching Overnight was pretty much SOP after getting home from work.

Just to drive the Maitre'd crazy, you could have Bob Wojnowski, Adrian Wojnarowski and Gene Wojciechowski. With Bob Kravitz and Bob Klapisch stopping by for dessert.

  3. (Dead) Columnists dinner:
Mike Royko, Lewis Grizzard, Art Buchwald, Ralph Wiley.

    Old, old school:
Grantland Rice, Jim Murrary, Herbert Warren Wind or Shirley Povich and WC Heinz

    Ladies:
Sally Jenkins, (I would talk shit about her dad), Jemele Hill (she has grown on me and I want to here more about her beliefs regarding oral sex), Linda Ellerbee and Robin Roberts

    The regulars:
Ed Bouchette, Vin Scully (Please let him count) if not I'll take Guy Yocum, Dave Kindred and David Feherty

    After-Dinner Drinks:
Burt Sugar, Jimmy Breslin, Jerry Izenberg and Frank DeFord

    Fuckabuncha Dan Jenkins.

I also want Bud Leavitt to join us. He may not have been as good a writer as any of my other three but I bet he'd still tell the best stories over dinner.

I'll leave the table and sit by the bar, if necessary. Bud's voice would carry over the juke box.

Steve Coll is a phenomenal selection. The smartest man I've ever met.
